Interior Designing is the craft of fulfilling space requirements and making it visually appealing simultaneously. It refers to incorporating your ideas and creativity to reflect your style and ethos in your space. This art is used to establish and elevate the look and feel of the interiors of a space; this space could be a home, office building, hotel or restraunt, airport, mall or any other commercial set up. The demand for experts in this domain is gaining popularity day by day since people these days are more conscious about the first impression that their ambience provides. With growing lifestyle standards, people are increasingly lured towards aesthetic appeal and creating a flabbergasting and comfortable environment for their guests. As per experts, the industry is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations, thereby, opening a cluster of opportunities to be a professional in this avenue. Some top-notch interior designing institutes in Delhi including AAFT School of Fashion and Design offers study programs to provide basic professional knowledge and skills required by aspiring students.

The minimum qualification required for pursuing these courses is 12th standard. After completion of a bachelor’s degree, students have a choice to go for a Post Graduate degree or work for a design and architectural firm. Through interior decorating courses, students can learn to merge their artistic flair with the technical knowledge as required in the industry. The profession requires knowledge of different art forms, interior construction, building codes, space planning, color schemes, universal accessibility standards, inspection regulations, architecture, furniture, etc. The job role of an interior designer includes:

  • Analyzing client’s needs and purpose of the space
  • Researching about trends along with associated legal and regulatory obligations
  • Determining space requirements and making decisions on structural features
  • Developing functional blueprints or design concepts as per the requirements and preferences of the client
  • Deciding and coordinating for specifications of materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, equipments, etc.
  • Administrating the whole process by managing schedules, requirements and budgets
  • Selecting colors, lighting, and other decorative materials to bring out the fashion and taste of the client
Interior design classes help students to acquire techniques that impart requisite expertise and knowledge of concepts used in the domain such as architectural drawing, ergonomics, building technology, etc. These aspects assist students in creating design structures and take decisions on overall visual appearance of the space as per the requirements, indicatives and theme provided by the clients.
